WHERE TO EAT: RESTAURANTS IN ALTEA
In Altea area, you can find a very large variety of restaurant, I included on this page a selection from my personal experience, in case this is helpful for you.
From the selection included here, "Bon Vent", "La Terraza", and the 2 restaurants in the old town, "La Forchetta" and "Stromboli" are relatively casual with prices between in the 20-35 euros per meal, of course depending on what you order.
"L' Olleta", and "Casa Enrique" are more formal with a higher price range, about 35/50 euros.
The last one I included here "Ca Joan" is really on the top quality level of what you can find in
the Area for meat and steaks and therefore quite expensive, on the range of 50 to 80 euros and really focused on meat and steak. It is not a place in general to go with kids, please take
it into account.

LA TERRAZA
I will start by La Terraza by Helen as it is the closest restaurant to our apartment as it is just about 100 m far. I n la Terraza you will find a good taste, friendly treatment and high quality food in a pleasant atmosphere. You can enjoy of a recently renovated premises, a very nice terrace and an international menu at a very reasonable cost. Main dishes starts about 10 Euros.

BON VENT
This restaurant is about 2 km from our place, so, you can reach it with a pleasant walk along the Altea sea side promenade. It is located at the Altea Yatch Club, the restaurant has three terraces overlooking the sea and the port. You can go there for breakfast or for lunch. Menu offers mainly Mediterranean dishes, so, I would recommend the rice and fish dishes. The location inside the Yatch Club transmits a very nice atmosphere and cost is also in a good level, about 20-30 Euros for lunch.

LA FORCHETTA
It is one of my favorite restaurants in the old town of Altea. It is about 20 minutes walk from the apartment, but you would need to go up, there are some hard slopes the last part of the walk, so, take this into account. In the old town, you usually only go for dinner, there are a variety of restaurants, mostly offering some kind of Italian cousin.
In summer, booking the table is mandatory as the old town area is very crowded.
They have several lounges and a terrace on the roof top, I would recommend to ask for the Terrace if available.
Cost is in a normal range for this type of restaurants in the old town, about 25-30 euros for a normal dinner.
STROMBOLY
This is a quite similar restaurant to La Forchetta and it is also located in the Altea old town. It is an Italian restaurant with good pizzas and pasta. I would say that has the best quality/cost ratio in the Altea old town. As La Forcheta the restaurant offers only for dinners. You also need to book if you go in Summer.

L'OLLETA
L' Olleta restaurant is located in the area in Altea called "L'Olla" that is about 4 km from Altea direction to Calpe. So, I would recommend going by car or bike, walking there is still possible but in some areas the path is close to the main road, so, I would not recommend it.
This place is really very nice, just on top of the L'Olla beach, you will find incredible views with a very nice sea breeze that is there even in the hottest summer days. It is usually open for brunch in the morning, lunch and dinners.
I would recommend ordering rice or fish dishes, paella is good, they have different types, all of them of high quality. Price is higher here, a meal with starters and dessert with wine would be around 40-50 Euros per person. I would say that going at least once is worthy for the place. Going there for some brunch in the morning is also recommendable and the cost would be lower. In the summer afternoons, the upper side of the restaurant is a kind of "chill out" place where you can take some drinks with soft music, it is very popular.

CASA ENRIQUE
This is a high quality restaurant specialized in fish, you can find here fresh fish and shellfish from the Altea sea side area. The restaurant is in l'Albir that is about 4 km from the apartment along to coast toward the south. If you follow the Altea sea side promenade you arrive to the Albir. Prices here are also in the medium/high area, a lunch or dinner would be around 40-50 euros.

CA JOAN
This is a very famous place in Altea, located in close to the 'Olla beach' about 4 km from the apartment in the road going to Calpe. So, I would recommend to go with Car. The restaurant is very know because of its meat and steaks, the restaurant offers a very specialized types of steaks being well know by its matured cow bone steaks. It proposes matured steaks from 50 euros/kg to 105 euros/kg mainly from Galician Cows. So, it you a steak lover this is your place, but it is quite expensive place, so please, take this into account. People sometimes come to Altea just to go to Ca Joan, so, it is really well known in the area.
